Every year in this part of the world, there are a lot of travelling during the festive period especially during the Christmas and New Year celebration. People travel across continent and boarders and miles to see their love ones. I didn't want to travel but my mother had insisted on phone that l come.

I took a short travel to my village town that is just 1:45miutes journey to see my mother for the New Year celebration. Normally one expected the roads to be very busy as people move to and fro. This comes with a lot of bad road as well as good one along the way.

On getting to village was a football tournament holding in the village hosted by the richest man here and some politicians seeking for re-election by 50 days time. So I got involved as my own clan qualified for the finals and I took part as a second half substitute in that match.

The game ended in misunderstanding due to misjudged goal by the central referee which he insisted not to reverse with all evidence to prove that otherwise while the team the goal favours threatened to walk out of the pitch if the referee is disobeyed. That eventually marked the end of the game.

There were many side football going on at the central primary school across different age brackets sponsored by benevolent people.

The next day was another sport outing, this time involving people of my age grade. There is a tradition here that people born within a certain age bracket: three years difference can form a group that will later turn to be the village government at advanced age.

So, our age group formed about 4 years ago as usual on 2nd of every year host a road work: a jugging exercise with high and classic song with traditional instrument to make the journey a merriment one.

I was involved in this one but went late to the exercise. The time for the exercise was 5:00 am but I had arrived the following night and was tired to wake that early. Failure to attend will attract a little fine as agreed my the group

Finally I Joined the along the way after taking a ride for about 7 minutes. The total journey covered was about 3 miles in total. We were dancing and merry until 9:am when everybody went their separate ways.
